Imo Frontline Gubernatorial Aspirant, Hon. Tony Nwulu who initiated the Not Too Young To Run bill on the floor of the House of Representatives, and was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari has got a major accolades as YIAGA honoured him alongside Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara and others for the roles they played towards success of the bill.
A Non Government Organization, YIAGA which played a major role of a pressure group towards the actualization of the age reduction bill hosted a celebration conference yesterday in Abuja to reflect on the Not Too Young To Run journey to success, challenges and lessons learnt. This was followed by a celebraion segment where the movement honoured selected Nigerians that contributed impressively to the success of the campaign.
One of the major honorees, a Federal House of Representatives Member, Hon. Nwulu, whose contribution towards the actualization of the bill has attracted both local and international commendation for the Not Too Young To Run Act which has re energized youths across the country to participate in governance was greatly applauded. His involvement to the struggle gave the bill an international recognition at the floor of United Nations Assembly.
The 39 year old lawmaker whose governorship ambition got a major boast from thousands of youths across the 27 local governments in Imo state, also led several media debates, peaceful rallies and numerous awareness campaign for the bill which made him a True Nigeria Youth Hero.
While making a remark as the sponsor of the bill, Hon. Tony Nwulu commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Leadership of the YIAGA, Leadership of the National Assembly and state assemblies for voting in support of the Age Reduction Bill.
He also urged young people to get their PVCs, Register for a political party and also run for an office in the forthcoming election.
Meanwhile, Hon. Tony Nwulu who donated vehicles to Imo PDP barely a week ago has been rumored to be nursing intentions of leaving the party over reports in the media of diabolic oath taking by PDP Delegates.
